Tips for Recycling Used Motor Oil.
  • Please call the FREE certified collection center nearest you to verify their hours of operation the quantities of used motor oil accepted.
  • Contaminated oil - Not Accepted! Make sure that your used motor oil is not contaminated with any other fluids (antifreeze, solvents, carburetor cleaner, water, etc.). The collection centers cannot accept contaminated oil. Take contaminated motor oil to a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event or permanent HHW site for proper disposal.
  • Carry oil in clean, non-breakable containers, no metal containers, please. Place oil filters in a sealed plastic bag to prevent leaks.
  • Do not mix oil with water, bleach, paint, solvents, or other automotive fluids.
  • Maximum container size accepted at collection sites - five (5) gallons.
  • A rebate of 16 cents per gallon is available to residents who recycle their used motor oil.
